Staying up to date with the most popular trends, buzzwords and influencers can be a full-time job. As a busy business owner, wouldn’t it be nice to have the CliffNotes version of today’s best business books?
Thankfully, there is a unique service called Blinkest that is serving up an entire library of over 1,000 of today’s most popular non-fiction books in a condensed version that can be “blinked” through in about 15 minutes.
Named one of the top apps by Apple last year, this handy tool has mobile friendly and audio versions of top business, personal development, psychology, health, science, productivity and other non-fiction books trawled by insightful experts that distill the key messages and intent of each book.
It’s fascinating, fun and easy to browse for new titles with over 40 being added each month. I found this to be an advantageous alternative to spending those small bits of time in between meetings, tasks or waiting in line rather than browsing Facebook or Pinterest.
Blinkest doesn’t claim to replace books, rather they promote profound learning tactics that allow you to read more and know more in minutes. Of course you can always choose to read the in-depth versions at your leisure. It is a subscription-based service with a free version that lets you read one book per day.
Here’s a list of their Top 10 Most Downloaded Business Books:
The $100 Startup, Chris Guillebeau
Pitch Anything, Oren Klaff
The Lean Startup, Eric Ries
The Hard Thing About Hard Things, Ben Horowitz
Losing my Virginity, Richard Branson
Start With Why, Simon Sinek
Zero to One, Peter Thiel
One Simple Idea, Stephen Key
What Would Google Do, Jeff Jarvis
Enchantment, Guy Kawasaki
So, what are you waiting for? I’m off to read “Marketing Above the Noise” by Linda Popky.
Let me know what you think!
